Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council Receives $3.32 Million to Expand Vital Programs on the Treasure Coast
Vero Beach, FL – 1/22/2025 – The Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council (TCHSC) proudly announces the award of $3,320,099 in funding to support critical programs across Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin Counties. This year’s funding reflects a remarkable increase of $919,189 compared to last year’s $2,400,910, underscoring the growing recognition of TCHSC’s impactful work.
Initially requesting $2,974,875, the awarded amount exceeded expectations by $345,224. This significant boost will allow for the expansion of both Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) services and the much-needed new Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) program tailored to survivors of domestic violence. Renewed funding will also enhance existing PSH programs and advance data systems, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of homelessness services in the region.
This milestone coincides with TCHSC’s celebration of 25 years of dedicated service to the Treasure Coast community. Over the past quarter-century, TCHSC has tirelessly worked to connect individuals and families with housing and support services, address systemic gaps, and collaborate with local agencies to reduce homelessness.
“These funds come at a pivotal time,” said Rayme L. Nuckles. “With the increasing demand for housing and services, this funding allows us to expand our capacity to serve the most vulnerable populations in our region, including survivors of domestic violence and individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.”
The expanded programs will directly address the urgent need for affordable housing solutions and supportive services, a critical concern for the Treasure Coast community. As the lead agency for the Continuum of Care, TCHSC will ensure that these funds are utilized to create sustainable solutions that transform lives. TCHSC collaborates with more than 60 local partners to implement innovative solutions that address the local unhoused crisis and promote long-term housing stability.
